Abstract
Banke se u svojem poslovanju susreću s nizom rizika, a jedan od najvažnijih predstavlja kreditni rizik. Imajući u vidu probleme s lošim kreditima s kojima su se banke oduvijek suočavale, pogotovo u vrijeme financijske krize 2008. godine, jasno je da je bankama u interesu dobro procijeniti isplativost kreditiranja svakog pojedinog zajmotražitelja. Cilj ovoga istraživanja bio je stoga prikazati koncept procjene kreditne sposobnosti kao metode upravljanja kreditnim rizikom, na primjeru OTP banke d.d. Istraživanje je provedeno intervjuom referenta kreditnog odjela u OTP banci d.d., kao i analizom dostupnih podataka iz izvještaja Banke. Primjećuje se porast kreditiranja poduzetnika, što se manifestira većim brojem klijenata, kao i većim brojem odobrenih transakcija. Zaključak je stoga da se OTP banka d.d. u kreditiranju poduzetnika može smatrati uspješnom, premda je zbog nižih stopa default-a u sektoru građanstva sklonija tom tržišnom segmentu.
Abstract (english)
Banks deal with a number of risks as part of their business, one of the most important being credit risk. Considering the problems involving bad credit that banks have always faced, especially during the 2008 financial crisis, it is clear that a careful evaluation of every credit applicant is in a bank's best interest. The aim of this paper was, therefore, to demonstrate the concept of creditworthiness evaluation as a component of credit risk management, using OTP banka d.d. as an example. The research was conducted by interviewing a clerk in the bank's credit department, as well as by analyzing available data from the bank's reports. An increase in the number of clients-entrepreneurs and the number of transactions involving them has been noticed. Thus, we conclude that OTP banka d.d. can be considered successful in lending to businesses, even though it has been more inclined to lending to citizens, due to lower default rates in that market sector.
