Abstract
Brojne financijske , odnosno bankarske krize, u prošlosti su pogodile europske zemlje, te izazvale mnoge poteškoće u poslovanju i reguliranju njihovih bankarskih sustava. Cilj ovog rada je dokazati da li je europski bankarski sustav stabilan uz fokusiranje na solventnost banaka. Koristi se deskriptivna statistika, odnosno statički modeli, gdje se testirala zavisna varijabla koeficijenta solventnosti te utjecaji nezavisnih varijabli poput prinosa na imovinu i nenaplativih kredita. Rezultatima se utvrdilo da i stopa prinosa na imovinu i stopa nenaplativih kredita pozitivno utječu na koeficijent solventnosti banaka. Kroz pomoćne hipoteze dokazano je da banke sve više izbjegavaju rizične kredite, a u tome im pomaže i razvoj tehnologije, prvenstveno financijske tehnologije i tzv. “Cybersecurity“.
Abstract (english)
Numerous financial and banking crises have hit European countries in the past, causing many difficulties in operating and regulating their banking systems. The aim of this paper is to prove whether the European banking system is stable with a focus on bank solvency. Descriptive statistics, that is, static models, are used to test the dependent variable of solvency ratio and the effects of independent variables such as returns on assets and non-performing loans. The results show that both the rate of return on assets and the rate of non-performing loans have a positive effect on the solvency ratio of banks. Through ancillary hypotheses, it has been proven that banks are increasingly avoiding risky loans, and in this they are assisted by the development of technology, primarily financial technology and so-called. "Cybersecurity".
