Abstract
Poduzetništvo je i proučavanje stvaranja novih poduzeća, kao i stvarni postupak započinjanja novog posla. Glavni razlozi za ulazak u poduzetništvo su kontrola – biti vlastiti šef, ambicija – započeti nešto ispočetka i financije – prilika za zaraditi više novca. Žene imaju tendenciju pokretanja poslova u prosjeku desetak godina kasnije od muškaraca. Ženama poduzetnicama je potrebna fleksibilnost na radnom mjesto te zato poduzetništvo može biti idealan način za uspostavljanje ravnoteže između konkurentskih zahtjeva karijere i obitelji. Međutim, u Hrvatskoj suočavaju se s većim poteškoćama u pristupu izvorima financiranja (npr. kreditu) nego njihove muške kolege, kao i vječitim stereotipima da moraju biti isključivo majke i domaćice. Pomažu im ženske mreže za poduzetničko osposobljavanje koje ih povezuju s mentorima i svim potrebnim informacijama. U mnogim slučajevima, za razliku od muškaraca, financijski uspjeh žene smatraju vanjskom potvrdom svoje sposobnosti, a ne primarnim ciljem ili motivacijom za pokretanje posla.
Abstract (english)
Entrepreneurship is both the study of how new businesses are created as well as the actual process of starting a new business. The main reasons to get into entrepreneurship are control – to be your own boss, ambition – to start something from scratch by yourself and finance – opportunity to earn more money. Women tend to start businesses about ten years later than men, on average.A female entrepreneur needs flexibility in the workplace so entrepreneurship can be the ideal way to rebalancing between the competing demands of career and family. However, in Croatia they face greater difficulties in obtaining financing (e.g. credit) than their male colleagues, as well as the perpetual stereotypes of being exclusively mothers and housewives. They are being helped by women's networks which link them with mentors and all the necessary information. In many instances, unlike men, women consider financial success as an external confirmation of their ability rather than as a primary goal or motivation to start a business.
