Abstract
Suvremeni turisti donose odluke o izboru turističke destinacije ovisno o tome zadovoljava li ponuda njihove potrebe, pruža li im nezaboravan doživljaj. Oni žele upoznati lokalnu kulturu, žele doći u kontakt s lokalnim stanovništvom, upoznati nacionalni folklor, gastronomiju, posjetiti festivale, muzeje, galerije itd. Sve to čini kvalitetu ponude. Danas su najtraženije turističke destinacije koje omogućuju turistima bavljenje različitim aktivnostima, koje njeguju tradiciju i prilagođavaju ponudu interesima, potrebama, motivaciji i ponašanju turista. Ovim radom definiraju se promjene na strani potražnje te motivi putovanja suvremenih turista u globalizacijskim uvjetima. Rad završava prijedlozima specializiranih kulturnih proizvoda otoka Korčule kako od kulturnih resursa napraviti turističku atrakciju i ostvariti veće zadovoljstvo turista boravkom u destinaciji, te se u konačnici na taj način i pozicionirati na turističkom trištu, kao destinacija kulturnog turizma.

Modern tourists choose their tourist destination depending on the offer that should satisfy their needs or grant them an unforgettable experience. They want to meet a local culture, local people, national folklore, gastronomy; they want to visit festivals, museums, galleries etc. All of the factors are important for the quality offer. Today, the most wanted tourist destinations are those that enable tourists to have different activities, cherish the tradition, and tailor their offer to the needs, interests, motivation, and tourists' behaviour. With this paper we identify changins of demand side and the motives for travelling of a modern tourist under the conditions of globalization. At the end, the paper will give some suggestions of specialized cultural products of the island of Korčula, and how to transform cultural resources into a tourist attraction and achieve greater satisfaction of tourists staying in the area, and to position on the tourism market, as a destination of cultural tourism
