The topic of this work is related to the issue of presenting and applying the Analysis of accounting politics on examples in activity of selected telecommunications. Through financial reports we get relevant informations about the financial condition and financial turnover of a business entity. Financial reports are a mirror of the business of every business entity and are an indispensable tool without which today's economic and political system would not be feasible. By analyzing financial reports, we can learn a lot about an individual business entity, although we need to be aware of the fact that a lot of significant information may remain hidden or difficult to identify in the most detailed financial statements. Accounting politics are characterized by specific bases, rules, agreements, practices and rules that must to be followed during the preparation as well as the presentation of financial reports. The purpose of this work is based on the presentation and application of accounting policies on the specific example of leading telecommunications operators in the Croatian market, more precisely on “Hrvatski Telekom d.d.” and “Optima Telekom d.d.”. The practical part includes the application of accounting policies in the area of fixed assets, financial assets and reservations. The basic idea of applying accounting policies is to strive for a more realistic and high-quality presentation of business. They allow the redistribution of the total result by accounting periods. Reflecting accounting policies on the appearance of financial statements that show the success and financial position of a particular business entity can be of great importance in the short term, while in the long term there is no such influence.
