Abstract
Obiteljskim se poduzećem smatra svako poduzeće u kojem su radno aktivni članovi jedne obitelji te njihovi prvi srodnici po muškom ili ženskom redu. Jedna od glavnih karakteristika, ali i prednosti obiteljskog poslovanja jest zajedništvo svih članova, predanost, usklađenost, ali i želja za ostvarivanjem zajedničkih ciljeva. Svako poduzeće ima svoj životni ciklus baš poput živih organizama. Za vrijeme svog djelovanja tj. poslovanja prolaze kroz faze životnog ciklusa, koja se uz moguća određena odstupanja ipak podudaraju s fazama životnog ciklusa živih organizama. Na tom se putu mijenjaju, razvijaju i suočavaju s brojnim preprekama i teškoćama, te upravo o reakciji na nastali problem ovisi hoće li poduzeće prevladati krizu i nastaviti s poslovanjem ili pak prestati s radom i nestati s tržišta.
