Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
Tourism has many positive influences, but also has meaningful negative influences on environment. Therefore it is necessary to turn to such tourism that will stop further destruction of the environment. One special type of tourism that ought to be nature friendly is camping tourism. On the European tourism market, the demand for camping tourism is everpresent and has been marked by an increasing trend. The world development of camping tourism has been influenced by rising awareness on the need to spend a vacation in natural environment as well as development of special recreational supply and vehicles intended especially for campers. In Croatia environmental protection is a process that develops gradually but slowly which is also evident by the modest number of camps possessing eco certificates. The objective of this study is to show the importance of responsible ecological management, with a special review on responsible ecological management in camps in Croatia. The conclusion of the research is that although Croatian camps increasingly act in an ecologically responsible manner, yet an insufficient number of them own an ecological certificate.
