Abstract (english)
This paper examines the use of truth tree method in the context of propositional and first-order logic. It includes basic definitions and examples of the analysis of symbolic as well as natural language. I provide detailed step-by-step analysis and explain every concept beforehand. The difference between propositional and first-order logic, I particularly deal with in chapter 3, is crucial to follow and to understand the truth tree method analysis. To begin with, I address the importance of studying and applying logic in philosophical academic formation as well as in everyday life. I introduce briefly the history of logic to underline the connection between science and logic. Subsequently, I present and explain all the necessary concepts to conduct my analysis. This paper contains 6 detailed examples of applied truth tree method in a form or consistency, tautology, equivalence and conclusion analysis. I conclude with an insight how this research shaped my understanding of logic and my future studies.
