Abstract
Cilj ovog rada bio je utvrditi kakav odnos ostvaruju darovita djeca sa svojim vršnjacima te suočavaju li se s određenim poteškoćama u socijalizaciji. Na temelju analize znanstvenih članaka na ovu temu, utvrđeno je da se darovita djeca uglavnom ne razlikuju od vršnjaka po socijalnim i emocionalnim osobinama. Karakterizira ih veća razina empatije, ali i niža razina anksioznosti. Iako su većinom jednako prihvaćena u društvu, darovita djeca se često suočavaju s tipičnim teškoćama poput slabije razvijenih socijalnih vještina, usamljenošću i stigmatizacijom. Imaju jednak broj prijatelja kao i vršnjaci, ali njihova prijateljstva su lošije kvalitete zbog prevelikih očekivanja koja često rezultiraju razočarenjem. Također, pronalaze prijatelje sebi bliske po mentalnoj, a ne po kronološkoj dobi. S obzirom na područje darovitosti, u društvu su puno bolje prihvaćena djeca darovita u sportu i umjetnosti, nego djeca darovita u akademskom pogledu.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this paper was to determine the relationship between gifted children and their peers, and whether gifted children deal with certain difficulties in socialization. Based on the analysis of scientific articles written on this topic, it was found that there is no distinction between gifted children and their peers when it comes to social and emotional traits. Gifted children are characterized by a higher level of empathy, as well as lower level of anxiety. Regardless of being mostly equally accepted by society, gifted children often face typical difficulties such as less developed social skills, loneliness and stigmatization. They have the same number of friends as their peers, but their friendships are of poorer quality due to too much expectations that often result in disappointment. Furthermore, gifted children make friends with other children similar to their mental rather than chronological age. Considering the area in which they are gifted, children gifted in sports and arts are more accepted than children gifted in academic terms.
