Abstract
Završni rad bavi se baroknom tvrđavom u Slavonskom Brodu. Na početku se iznosi povijesni kontekst gradnje, važnost fortifikacije u 18. stoljeću, kao i funkcije njezinih dijelova. Nazvana „Dioklecijanovom palačom“ Sjevera, tvrđava Brod jedna je od najvećih zdanja kontinentalne Hrvatske. U nastavku rada bit će opisano i današnje stanje brodske Tvrđave. Tvrđava se ističe dominantnom rustikalnošću, koja je integrirana i adaptirana u okvire grada Slavonskog Broda, njegove svakodnevice i kulture.
Abstract (english)
The final thesis deals with baroque fortress in the city of Slavonski Brod. At the beginning, the historical context of the constructions is presented, following the importance of fortification in the 18th century as well as the function of its parts. Often called the Diocletian's Palace of the north, the Brod fortress is one of the largest buildings in continental Croatia. The present state of the fortress will be described in the following text. The dominant rustic quality is the prominent feature of the fortess which is integrated and adapted within the framework of the city of Slavonski Brod, its everyday life and culture.
