Abstract
Popularna glazba globalno je rasprostranjen produkt popularne kulture. Nastala je u SAD-u, odakle se proširila dalje na svijet. Često je na udaru kritika zbog jednostavnih melodija i tekstova, površnosti i činjenice da je stvarana za mase, ali mnogi autori smatraju da je potrebno poznavati pravila glazbe i načine na koje se pojedini žanrovi slušaju, da bi se mogli svidjeti slušatelju. Anketno istraživanje provedeno tijekom 2017. i 2018. godine, na području Splita, tako što su prikupljani podaci o stavovima i mišljenjima mladih ljudi o popularnoj glazbi, iskustvima slušanja popularne glazbe, kao i o načinima provođenja slobodnog vremena. Podaci pokazuju da ispitanici najviše slobodnog vremena provode u slušanju glazbe, kada najčešće slušaju upravo pop glazbu. Rezultati rada pokazuju da većina mladih sluša pop glazbu jer je plesna, opuštajuća i omogućuje im da se zabave.
Abstract (english)
Popular music is a widespread product of the popular culture. It origins in USA, from where it spread around the world. It has often been criticised because of the simplicity of its lyrics and melodies, and the fact that it is superficial and made for the masses, but many authors presume that it is important to know the rules of music and listening od a certain genre, so that it could be apealling to a consumer. Research was conducted during 2017. and 2018., in the city of Split, by collecting dana of attitudes and opinions of young people, their experience in listening popular music, as well as the ways of spending leisure time. Data shows that respondents mostly spend their leisure time listening to music, which is mostly pop music. Data analysis shows that young people mostly listen to pop music because it is a dance music, which allows them to have most fun.
