Abstract
Tema ovog rada je uloga obitelji u poticanju socio-emocionalnog razvoja darovite djece. S obzirom na to, ukratko je predstavljen povijesni pregled pojma darovitosti te neke od najvažnijih i najpoznatijih teorija kojima se pokušalo obuhvatiti njegove najvažnije sastavnice. Nadalje, razmotreni su najčešći stavovi i uvjerenja o darovitim pojedincima kao i način njihove identifikacije. Opisano je darovito dijete sa svojim karakteristikama i specifičnostima. Istaknuta je važnost razvoja socio-emocionalnih kompetencija u ranoj i adolescentskoj fazi, kako općenito, tako i za darovite. Također, navedene su značajke obitelji kao primarne sredine, njena uloga u socio-emocionalnom razvoju darovitog djeteta te četiri modela roditeljstva. Na kraju je navedena moguća podrška obiteljima darovitih u obliku zakona i ostalih programa potpore i edukacije.
Abstract (english)
The topic of this paper is the role of the family in encouraging the social and emotional development of gifted children. With this in mind, a historical overview of the concept of giftedness and some of the most important and well-known theories that tried to include its most important components are briefly presented. Furthermore, the most common attitudes and beliefs about gifted individuals as well as the way they are identified, are discussed. A gifted child with its own characteristics is described. The importance of developing social and emotional competencies in the early and adolescent phase, both in general and for the gifted, was emphasized. Additionally, the characteristics of the family as a primary environment, its role in the social and emotional development of a gifted child and four models of parenting are presented. Finally, possible support for families of gifted children in the form of laws and other support and education programs is listed.
