Abstract
Glavna tema završnog rada odnosi se na prikaz nasilja nad ženama u djelima Artemisije Gentileschi. Ispitivanjem različitih tekstova koji se tiču njezinog života i rada, kao i same njene umjetnosti, cilj je utvrditi kako Artemisia Gentileschi pristupa prikazivanju žene, ženskog tijela i nasilja nad ženama. Istražuje se koliko je silovanje koje je pretrpjela ostavilo traga na njezino slikarstvo. Autorica istražuje u kojoj su mjeri na oblikovanje njezinog stila utjecali otac Orazio Gentileschi i Caravaggio, odnosno kako je nastao jedinstveni stil i osebujni izraz Artemisije Gentileschi.
Abstract (english)
The main topic of this thesis pertains to the portrayal of violence against women in the works of Artemisia Gentileschi. By examining different texts concerning her life and work, as well as the art itself, the goal is to determine how Artemisia Gentileschi approaches the portrayal of a woman, the female body, and the violence that surrounds them, and how in turn it connects to personal events in Artemisia Gentileschi’s life, such as her rape by Agostino Tassi. A spotlight is also placed on differentiating the influence of other male artists from Artemisia Gentileschi’s work, such as those of her father Orazio and their main inspiration Caravaggio, to bring forth and acknowledge Artemisia Gentileschi’s own unique style.
