Abstract
Crkva sv. Marije na Škrilinah je jednobrodna gotička crkva koja se nalazi sjeveroistočno od Berma, a podignuta je u 15. stoljeću. Obnovljena je 1709. godine, kada je srušen originalni gotički svod, obnovljen strop, postavljen trijem te podignuta dva prozora na bočnim stranama građevine. Godine 1912. crkva je restaurirana te je dograđena sakristija. Majstor Vincent iz Kastva i njegova radionica godine 1474. oslikavaju unutrašnjost crkve ciklusom freski s 46 scena iz Marijina i Kristova života, a prikazane su i teme Plesa mrtvaca, Kola sreće i Prvog grijeha, ali i sveci koji su bili štovani u Bermu i okolici. Ostali umjetnici koji su slikali crkvu osim Vincenta iz Kastva prepoznati su kao Majstor Plesa mrtvaca te Majstor Pasije, nazvali prema djelima koje su oslikali. U svojem radu koristili su brojne grafičke predloške, poglavito njemačku i nizozemsku grafiku, grafičke listove tzv. Majstora sa svicima te Bibliu pauperum. Beramski je ciklus freski iz crkve sv. Marije na Škrilinah jedan od najočuvanijih ciklusa hrvatskog srednjovjekovnog zidnog slikarstva.
Abstract (english)
The church of Saint Mary at Škrilinah is a single-nave Gothic church, built in 15th century and located northeast from town of Beram. It was reconstructed in 1709., when the original Gothic vault was demolished, ceiling was renovated, porch was built and also two windows were created on the side walls of the building. The church was restored in 1912., and sacristy was added. Master Vincent of Kastav and his workshop in the year of 1474. painted the interior of the church with a cycle of fresco paintings with 46 scenes from life of Mary and Christ, also featuring themes of Dance of Dead, Wheel of Fortune and First Sin, as well as the Saints who were worshiped in Beram and the surrounding area. Other artists who painted the church beside Vincent of Kastav were recognized as Master of Dance of the Dead and Master of Passion. In their work, artists were using numerous graphical templates, especially German and Dutch graphics, graphical templates of Master with the rolls and Biblia pauperum. Fresco cycle in church of Saint Mary at Škrilinah in Beram is one of the best preserved cycles of Croatian medieval wall paintings.
