Abstract
Unatoč sve većoj obrazovanosti žena te njihovom zapošljavanju izvan kuće, rodna diskriminacija na tržištu rada učestala je pojava. Dodatno opterećenje jest i nedovoljna društvena prepoznatost jednoroditeljskih obitelji koje se javljaju kao alternativa tradicionalnoj obitelji. U tome smislu unutar rada naglasak je bio na istraživanju općenitog odnosa društva prema samohranim majkama; u kojoj su mjeri samohrane majke zadovoljne širom društvenom podrškom, kako formalno tako i neformalnom; kako samohrane majke percipiraju svoje izglede za ulazak na tržište rada; utvrđivanje mogućnosti usklađivanja radnih obveza s onima obiteljskim kao i analizama u kojoj mjeri pozicija samohranog roditeljstva uzrokuje stres. Iako su različiti tipovi obitelji izloženi ekonomskom stresu zbog nedostatka financijskih sredstava, jednoroditeljske obitelji u značajno su težem položaju od dvoroditeljskih obitelji. Samohrane majke suočavaju se s različitim materijalim, financijskim i emocionalnim izazovima, pri čemu formalna i neformalna podrška imaju izrazitu važnost. Unutar ovog kvalitativnog istraživanja intervjuirane samohrane majke na području grada Splita ukazale su na nedovoljnu i neadekvatnu, mogućnost uključivanja na tržište rada. Zbog svih poteškoća koje uglavnom proizlaze iz statusa jednoroditeljstva, smatraju kako društvo treba sustavnije poraditi na ukljanjanju negativnog stava i pomoći prilikom ublažavanja osjećaja marginaliziranosti koji doprinosi njihovom nepovoljnom društvenom položaju.
Abstract (english)
Despite the increasing of women and their employment outside the home, gender discrimination on the labor market has become commonplace. An additional burden is also the inadequate social recognition of single-parent families that appearas an alternative to the traditional family. In this context, the focus was on researching the general relationship of society towards single mothers; the extent to which single mothers are satisfied with social support, both formal and informal; how single mothers perceive their prospets for entry into the labor market; Determining the possibilities of matcing work obligations with those of family as well as an analysis of the extent to which the postion of self-parenting is causing stress. Although differnt types of families are exposed to economic strain due to the lack off financial resources, single-parent families are significantly more vulnerable than family with two parents.Single mothers face differnt material, financial and emotional challenges, with formal and informal support being of paramount importance. Within this qualitative survey, interviewed single mothers in the Split area showed insufficient and inadequate access to the labor market. Because of all the difficulties that stem mostly from single-parent status, they belive that society needs to be more systematically involved in removing a negative attitude and helping alleviate the feelengs of marginalization that contribute to their unfavorable social status.
