Abstract
Temeljni cilj ovog istraţivanja bio je saznati kako splitski pomorci provode svoje slobodno vrijeme na brodu i kod kuće. U istraţivanju su sudjelovali pomorci koji plove na stranim brodovima. Korišten je polustrukturirani intervju kao metoda istraţivanja. U razdoblju od oţujka do lipnja 2019. godine, provedeno je petnaest intervjua. Rezultati pokazuju kako su mogućnosti slobodnog vremena na brodu ograniĉene i predodreĊene u izrazitoj mjeri. Brod se stoga moţe sagledavati kao „totalnu instituciju“. Usporedba sa slobodnim vremenom kojeg splitski pomorci provode kod kuće pokazuje izrazite razlike. Rad pokazuje kako se pomorci nose s promjenama reţima zatvorenosti i slobode (more i kopno), koliko im je potrebno vremena za prilagodbu i koje posljedice na njih ostavlja periodiĉna odvojenost od ţivota na kopnu.
Abstract (english)
The basic aim of this research was to find out how Split sailors spend their free time on board and at home. The survey involved seafarers sailing on foreign ships. A semi-structured interview was used as a research method. In the period from March to June 2019., fifteen interviews were conducted. The results show that opportunities for leisure on board are limited and predetermined to a great extent. The ship can therefore be seen as a „total institution“. Comparison with the leisure time that Split sailors spend at home shows striking differences. The paper shows how seafarers cope with changes in the regime of confinement and freedom (sea and land), the amount of time it takes to adjust and the consequences of having a periodic separation from life on land.
