Abstract
Hrvatski sustav visokoškolskog obrazovanja prošao je kroz reformu u okviru Bolonjskog procesa koji potiče kontinuirano praćenje i poboljšavanje kvalitete sveučilišnih programa. Uloga procesa osiguranja i unapreĎenja svih ostalih procesa koji se odvijaju na visokim učilištima postaje sve značajnija u visokom obrazovanju. U ovom se radu prikazuje nova skupina koja je sve više zastupljena u visokom obrazovanju, a to su netipični studenti. To su stariji studenti koji su: odgodili svoje upise na fakultete, u braku su i imaju posao, pripadnici su manjinskih skupina i drugo. Razlikuju se od tipičnih mlaĎih studenata te su po većim pritiskom zbog obiteljske, poslovne i studentske uloge koje nastoje ispuniti. Ovi dodatni zahtjevi stvaraju opterećenje i vremenska ograničenja koja utječu na iskustvo i tijek studiranja netipičnih studenata. Unatoč poteškoćama, istraţivanja pokazuju kako netipični studenti uglavnom uspijevaju steći diplomu i biti uspješni. Iako je sustav pokazao napredak, treba i dalje raditi na stalnom osiguravanju kvalitete i pojačavanju svijesti o vaţnosti obrazovanja.
Abstract (english)
The Croatian higher education system has undergone a reform within the Bologna Process which encourages continuous monitoring and improvement of the quality of university programs. The role of the process of ensuring and improving all other processes that take place at universities is becoming increasingly important in higher education. This paper presents a new group that is increasingly represented, and they are non-traditional students. These are older students who have: delayed college enrollment, are married and have a job, are members of minority groups and more. They differ from traditional younger students and are under more pressure due to the family, business and student roles that they seek to fulfill. These additional requirements create a workload and time limits that affect the experience and course of study of non-traditional students. Despite the difficulties, research shows that these students generally manage to earn a degree and be successful. Although the system has shown progress, further work is needed on continuous quality assurance and raising awareness of the importance of education.
