Artistic expression is a spontaneous activity that is present in every child's life. Through art creativity children interacts with the world around them and express their thoughts, feelings and desires. Accordingly, their drawings are often a reflection of the children's emotional and cognitive states. The human figure was recognized as one of the most important objects in the children's drawing through which children express their inner world. Also, this object reveals a number of elements that lead to a better understanding of children's personality. Given the importance of this topic, the paper presents a research study which aimed to determine the characteristics of the development of human figures in children's drawing. The study included 27 children. Children's drawings were analyzed according to developmental elements Elizabeth Koppitz. The results showed a wide range of forms and ways of drawing the human figure. Also, the results confirmed that the development of the human figure drawings follows the chronological age of the child. These results illustrate the dynamics of the development of children's drawings and show the importance of monitoring this form of children's self-exploration both in research as well as in practice.
