Abstract
U uvodnom dijelu ovog završnog rada opisana je definicija korozije kao i njena uloga u našem svakodnevnom životu, te razlozi zbog kojih se je potrebno posvetiti problemima s korozijom. Prvim poglavljem opisani su izravni i neizravni troškovi koji su posljedica korozije, te načini na koji se isti mogu umanjiti pravilnim metodama kontrole korozije. Također opisani su čimbenici koji utječu na koroziju i njene troškove, te elementi troškova i njihovi primjeri. U drugom poglavlju opisano je nekoliko katastrofalnih nesreća izazvanih korozijom, čije su posljedice bile gubitak ljudskih života, te značajne ekonomske i ekološke posljedice. Trećim poglavljem objašnjena su ulaganja u korozijske troškove na svjetskom nivou, razne metode pokušaja procjenjivanja troškova, te tok troškova utjecajnijih s vjetskih nacija kroz povijest. Kako bi se pokazalo da su se problemi s korozijom shvatile ozbiljnije tokom vremena u zadnjem poglavlju opisani su neki od primjera smanjivanja korozijskih troškova u industriji.
Abstract (english)
The introductory part of this thesis describes the definition of corrosion as well as its role in our dialy lives, and the reasons why it is necessary to address the problems with corrosion. The second chapter describes the direct and indirect costs due to corrosion, and the ways in which they can be reduced by proper corrosion control methods. Factors affecting corrosion and its costs are also described, as well as costs elements and their examples. The third chapter describes several catastrophic accidents caused by corrosion, the consequences of which were the loss of human lives, and significant economic and environmental consequences. The fourth chapter explains investments in corrosion cost at the global level, various methods of attempting to estimate costs, and the flow of cost of more influential world nations trought history. In order to show that corrosion problems have been taken more seriously over time, the last chapter desribes some of the examples of reducing corrosion costs in industry.
