The thesis lists the laws that intertwine fire protection and construction of buildings. Parts that connect these two areas more closely have been extracted from individual laws. Explaining the cause of the fire and how to prevent it from spreading, a fire alarm system installed in a supermarket and a coffee bar, as an example of the aforementioned theory, is given. The mentioned laws can be found in the second chapter, where it is stated what topics they deal with and how these laws are divided. The more important parts related to the topic are discussed or quoted. The second chapter lists some of the possible causes of electric fires that are related to device malfunction or user negligence. One of the ways the movement of the temperature in the larger operating equipment can be monitored is by means of IR cameras, the use and application of which are explained in the fourth chapter. The fifth chapter is closely related to firefighting and thus includes measures of active and passive fire protection. The need for protection is explained as well as the manner of its implementation. The sixth chapter shows the destructive nature of fire that destroys everything in its path as well as takes human lives. The included examples show how a harmless situation can lead to catastrophe. In order to cover the entire topic of the thesis, from the norms to the implementation of fire protection, the seventh chapter presents an example of a supermarket’s fire alarm system.
